The last words of Christ are, “make disciples of all the nations” (Matt28:19) and “you shall be My witnesses...even to the remotest part of the earth” (Acts 1:8). Perhaps God is calling you to the faith stretching challenge of taking the Gospel to a foreign country and culture.
At Bay Area, we want to have the Lord’s compassion when he said: "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest" (Matt.9:37,38). We know that God wants to answer that prayer request.
If you are interested in pursuing the possibility of serving the Lord as a vocational missionary, the Global Outreach team is excited about coming alongside you in the process of discerning God’s will. We can provide you with exposures to cross-cultural mission opportunities, ministry experiences and training, instruction from God’s Word, and direct you to seminars and conferences which will help you confirm God’s leading and prepare you for ministry... whether it be overseas or in Annapolis.
God is at work around the globe! What an honor it is to partner with mission teams on the field to see people around the world transformed by the power of the Gospel. Whether it is planting churches in Poland or doing evangelism and discipleship in Malaysia, you can be an advocate for a specific missionary team helping to reach a unique culture and country. Perhaps your heart is for constructing churches and hospitals in the Dominican or building disaster stricken El Salvadorians a new home, there are opportunities for you to help strategize and develop God-honoring plans. Maybe your burden is for aids victims in Nigeria or ministering medical care in Romania, you can be a part of a group that will seek to communicate regularly with one of our mission teams on the field in order to make a difference for the cause of Christ in a foreign land.
At Bay Area, we take Christ’s Great Commission seriously! Presently, we are mobilizing teams to serve our missionaries in Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Ireland, Northern Africa, Nigeria, and Poland. If you have a heart or desire to see God use you in any of these areas or countries, there are plenty of opportunities available as part of our Missions Field Liaison Team. If you have a burden for other countries in which we are presently involved yet without a missionary team on the field - such has Romania or El Salvador or the Dominican Republic- you are invited to be a part of a steering team that will pray and plan our ministry strategies for those countries.
Join this team and help keep the BACC body up to date on the projects and prayer needs of our International and US missionaries by utilizing Connections. You’ll work with BACC leaders in implementing Children, Youth and Adult Sunday school classes that cultivate a vision and passion for missions.
A Missions Link Care Team is a small group that helps care for a specific missionary (a single, couple, or family) and makes them feel connected with the body of Bay Area Community Church. Several Small Groups and children’s Sunday school classes have “adopted” a missionary–meaning that they are committed to that family or individual and their work. As a group, they regularly communicate with the missionary via letter, e-mail, phone calls, and packages. Whether the missionary is home on furlough or out in the field, this team becomes a second family and extends Bay Area’s love to them. Missions Link Care Teams allow all members of BACC to be actively involved in God’s global work of world missions by getting involved in the lives of our missionaries!
We’re the team that covers the international missions. Not only do we organize and go on short-term mission trips, we also serve, support and pray for our missionaries. We get to see God bring about His promise to bless the nations!
Perhaps you have a heart for missions and are not sure yet where you would like to serve. The Global Outreach Team has monthly meetings where you can learn how God is using BACC to impact countries around the globe. All the missions’ teams report on a regular basis at the monthly meetings to build a community of people who are passionate about missions. God is glorified when His people call out to Him in prayer. This team organizes individual and corporate prayer for our missionaries, and encourages and works with our Missions Link Care Teams. We encourage you to join one of the intercessory prayer meetings or come to a night of prayer and praise offered by the Compassionate Outreach Team. You can also be placed on individual missionaries email list to receive your own copy of their prayer requests!
